Two great ways to practice make your saxophone sound more full bodied, resonant, and allow the reed to vibrate more. 1. Joe Allard Octave Drops Finger low F , sound middle F, drop down to low F by changing the oval cavity (tongue position) of your mouth 2. Overblowing the Low Register of the Saxophone Play the low notes on the saxophone from F to Bb while having the octave key on to create a leak/resistance you need to blow against. To get the notes out like this, you need to get your jaw position in the right spot to get the notes to sound. You can do this with single notes and then slur them as well.
