ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ Basant 1st Guru. ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ॥ Thy mammon, O Lord, has bewitched all the worlds. ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਸਰਬ ਤੋਹ ॥ I see not another, everywhere Thou are. ਤੂ ਸੁਰਿ ਨਾਥਾ ਦੇਵਾ ਦੇਵ ॥ Thou are the Lord of the great Yogis and gods. ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਸੇਵ ॥੧॥ Serving the Guru's feet, God's Name is obtained. ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਲਾਲ ॥ O my beauteous deep and unfathomable Beloved Lord, ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਤੂ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਪਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉੁ ॥ by the Guru's grace I sing Thine praises; Thou are infinite and the cherisher of all. Pause. ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ॥ Without the saint, God's association is obtained not. ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੈਲ ਮਲੀਨ ਅੰਗੁ ॥ Without the Guru, man's mind remains filthy with filth. ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨ ਸੁਧੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ Without God's name, one becomes not pure. ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਲਾਹੇ ਸਾਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥ Through the Guru's word, the mortal sings the praise of that True Lord. ਜਾ ਕਉੁ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਰਖਨਹਾਰ ॥ One whom Thou saved; O saviour Lord, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਵਹਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਾਰ ॥ him Thou lead on to the True Guru, and this wise Thou take care of him. ਬਿਖੁ ਹਉੁਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਪਰਹਰਾਇ ॥ Thou purge him of the poisonous pride and worldly love. ਸਭਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ॥੩॥ Through Thee, O sovereign Lord, all his sufferings are dispelled. ਊਤਮ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਸਰੀਰ ॥ Sublime becomes man's state and condition, fi he cultivates God's virtues in his body, ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹੀਰ ॥ By the Guru's instruction, the gem of the Lord's Name becomes manifest. ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਜਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉੁ ॥ Then one is attuned to the Lord's Name and is rid of another's love. ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਾਉੁ ॥੪॥੫॥ O God, make Thou slave Nanak meet the great Guru. ———————————————————————————————————— SoundCloud:   / simrit-sukhmeet   Instagram: https://instagram.com/simrit.sukhmeet...
