In June, AIIMS chief Dr. Randeep Guleria said that the 'inevitable' third wave could hit the country in the next six to eight weeks. According to an SBI report, the third wave of covid may hit India in August and peak in September. Other experts have pointed that the third wave may see half the cases reported during 2nd surge.
