How did Fiverr end up producing a documentary in North Nashville, Tennessee? While shooting our brand campaign “It Starts Here” last summer, we learned local zip code 37208 has the highest incarceration rate in the US. To outsiders, it’s a stat that defines the neighborhood. But to residents, it’s a rallying cry to serve its people and invest in its youth. “Out North,” the film we produced, is told through the eyes of several key activists and entrepreneurs in North Nashville, shining a new, more positive light on the hopeful story of 37208. It’s a story of opportunity and reinvestment into an otherwise underserved community. It’s a snapshot of a moment in time, a story rooted in civil rights, overcoming disaster and the legacies of institutionalized racism, and committing to creating a more resilient culture in the face of a changing city.
