I got a fake check in the mail with a job offer as a secret shopper from a company called The Penny Hoarder Survey Program. Here's how it works, First you deposit the fake check and the funds will be in your account in a few days, the bank will even tell you the check has cleared. You go to the store and you’ve been asked to shop at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and other major retailers. You’re instructed to buy eBay gift cards and to scratch the back of the gift cards and send pictures of the cards or to give the numbers on the cards. You are supposed to send the pictures to whatever email they provide you and after that, you get a portion of the money which is usually around $400 and THAT'S IT!!! Fast forward a few days later to find out the money from the fake check you deposited into your bank has bounced and you now owe the bank all that money.
