"A Walk with Historians: Reading Truths to History" Discussion with Anirudh Kanisetti and Manu S Pillai at KLF 23 About Speakers: Anirudh Kanisetti: Anirudh Kanisetti is the author of Lords of the Deccan, a new history of medieval South India. He is currently an Editor at the Museum of Art and Photography. He has received grants from the Princeton Center for Digital Humanities and the India Foundation for the Arts, and his writings and work have been featured in The Hindu, The New Indian Express, and LiveMint, among others. He writes the fortnightly Thinking Medieval column for ThePrint, and the History, Southside column for The Hindustan Times. He hosts two critically acclaimed podcasts – Echoes of India and Yuddha. Manu S Pillai: Manu S Pillai is the author of the award-winning The Ivory Throne (2015), Rebel Sultans (2018), The Courtesan, the Mahatma & the Italian Brahmin (2019), and most recently, False Allies (2021). Formerly Chief of Staff to Dr. Shashi Tharoor MP, he has in the past worked at the House of Lords in Britain, and with the BBC on their 'Incarnations' history series. A winner of the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar, he has been a columnist at Mint Lounge, while his other writings have appeared in The Hindu, Open Magazine, the Times of India, Hindustan Times, The New Statesman, and other publications.
