Turning a Sportster into a Touring Machine - Part Five: Replacing Oil Hoses, Fuel Line, and all Cables My sportster is almost all original and almost 20 years old. It's safe to assume that some of it's parts are.... past their expiration date. One of my big fears is an expensive break down while thousands of miles from home. So as preemptive medicine one of the aspects of this Sportster's conversion to touring status is to replace as many items that deteriorate over time. And anything good I take off will then be a backup in my emergency repair kit.
