Hijab - Short film by Shahad A Muslim girl, Noora is gifted her first Hijab by her mother, Zahraa. In this short, we follow Noora's journey after her first day of school and how wearing a piece of traditional symbolism requires sacrifices, including that, of her greatest gift of all... her voice. Hijab tells a story of women. It's a coming-of-age narrative that speaks of ancestral cycles, faith, oppression, and expectations placed on women in cultural societies. This story fights against the grain, shedding light on the impossible struggles fought by women who were (/and still are) silenced, and encourages attention to a fundamental message of freedom, "May faith be a choice, and the voiceless be heard.".
