We are saints. Baptism kills the old nature. If we are crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but He who lives in me. Therefore, we can still sin, but it is no longer our nature to sin. Our old man is dead, and a large part of the church is necromancing and raising the wrong dead people. The main point of Romans is that we are free from sin. You may still have struggles in life, but it is not the struggle against the old nature. You need to make sure that you are fighting the right enemy and not putting effort in to kill something that is already dead. He goes on to say that Galatians 5 describes the old man that should be dead, and Ephesians talks about how we should be taking care of our flesh, that is, the new flesh.
