Konami Gaming is an expanding slot machine and systems development company that desired a building that would serve as a state of the art infrastructure for their ever-advancing technological market. In 2004, Konami partnered with Martin-Harris Construction to complete the first building for their Las Vegas facility, a 110,000 SF tilt-up shell including a 2,000 gpm fire pump and a 2-story mezzanine with (2) elevators. Martin-Harris also performed the associated improvements for the Konami Gaming warehouse and office tenant improvement. The facility features a slot machine showroom with high ceilings and flowing suspended ceilings signifying Konami meaning “small wave.” Open space planning and natural light provide an enhanced work environment in the office portions. The project had an extremely tight construction schedule as the tenant expanded the square footage requirements during construction. It was necessary to add an additional 3,000 SF to the 40,000 SF office while the construction documents were in final permitting. In 2013, Konami contracted Martin-Harris Construction to begin preconstruction services on a 200,000 SF addition to the facility that would create a single campus housing expanded manufacturing, research and development and administration to support Konami’s growth. Construction of the state-of-the-art space completed in 2015 and the building was LEED Silver Certified in 2016.
