For more videos and photography from around the world, follow my Instagram   / djflore   (English below) 11 Jahre nachdem ich einen Zeitraffer zum 150 jährigen Jubiläum des Rosenheimer Herbstfests aufgenommen hatte, gab es 2022 nach zwei Jahren coronabedingter Pause nun endlich wieder eine Wiesn. Der Zeitpunkt war genau richtig, da ich für einige Wochen im Heimatland ansässig war - somit war die Idee zu einer Neuauflage eines solchen Videos geboren. Das Ziel war es eine Kombination aus diversen Methoden wie Timelapse, Hyperlapse, 360 Grad Aufnahmen, gepaart mit diversen Nachbearbeitungstechniken, zu vereinen und ein Zeitraffervideo zu erstellen, das es so in der Region noch nicht gegeben hat. Gewappnet mit deutlich mehr Erfahrung, neuem Equipment, und unzähligen Ideen, besuchte ich an den 16 Tagen insgesamt 12 Mal die Wiesn, nahm 60000 Bilder und 40 Videos auf, und generierte insgesamt über 3 Terabyte an Daten, die dann in mehr als 120 Stunden Bearbeitungsaufwand in ein knapp über 4 Minuten langes Video verwandelt wurden. Es war ein spannender Prozess, mit vielen Highlights, aber natürlich auch Frustrationen wie zum Beispiel ein Baustellenkran in genau der falschen Position, ungenaue Wettervorhersagen, und typischen technischen Probleme (und auch Eigenversagen, Künstler sind auch nur Menschen 😉), die am Ende alle Teil des Herzbluts werden, welches das finale Produkt ausmacht. Hoffentlich gefällt euch das Resultat und es fängt die einzigartige Stimmung des Rosenheimer Herbstfests so ein, wie wir es erlebt haben. — 11 Years after I recorded a timelapse for the 150th anniversary of Herbstfest Rosenheim, one of the many famous Bavarian beer festivals, 2022 finally brought an end to the spectacle’s two years corona-induced break. The timing was perfect, as I was about to spend a few weeks at home in Germany, and the idea to create a new version was born. My aim was to utilize a combination of Timelapse, Hyperlapse, and 360 videos, paired with various editing techniques, to create something that has never before been seen in the region. Equipped with a lot more experience than more than 10 years ago, new tools, and tons of ideas, I visited the festival 12 times during the 16 days, recorded 60,000 images and 40 videos, generating about 3 Terabyte of data in the process, which I turned into a 4 minute video through almost 120 hours of editing effort. It was an exciting process, full of highlights but also disappointments, such as construction cranes in exactly the wrong places, inaccurate weather forecasts, and the typical technical challenges, as well as human errors (even artists are just humans after all 😉). At the end, all of these experiences became a part of the blood, sweat, and tears that make up the final output.
