Second full-length release by the American tyrants in As the Shadows Envelop Me. Working now as a full band, with 4 members, Sonnenmensch on guitars, vocals and lyrics, Blodethos on lyrics, lures and synths, Argent Pale on flute and an anonymous member on percussion duties, "Fedrekult" is a triumphant return and definitely a step up from the project's debut. A tale of might and perseverance, a recollection of teachings and wisdom revealed through blood memory and self-realization. Harnessing the natural currents of Germanic paganism its main focus, although some tracks being also inspired by Cletiberian mysticism, and interpreting it at the eyes of Jungian philosophy and as a path to individuation, ATSEM delivers over 45 minutes of fierce, stoic, sanguine Black Metal, continuing on a aural path similar to their previous album, clearly inspired by the likes of Mütiilation, Sanguine Relic and Satanic Warmaster, but definitely with a more epic and Germanic take on the sound carrying the torch of valiant heroes, an influence also much noticeable with the addition of Folk and Ambient elements, often reminiscing with Burzum.
