Fighting Sticks (E2) - Zulu Stick Fighting Documentary • SABC • 1983

This is Episode 2 of "Fighting Sticks" which is a documentary on the techniques, strategies and customs of Zulu stick fighting. In 1983, "Fighting Sticks" was released for TV by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). The series was presented by Barry Leitch, a renowned Zulu cultural expert. Barry grew up with the Zulu people and basically did everything a Zulu boy would do. In the video, the parallels between Zulu stick fighting and other martial arts are also highlighted. Much of the video shooting involving the Western and Eastern martial arts was done around 1982 and took place at the original Ryukyu Kobujutsu Hozon Shinko Kai South Africa dojo on Derby Road in Judith's Paarl, Johannesburg. The dojo was owned and run by shihan Edward Jardine who together with sensei Liam Keeley were featured as Chinese and Japanese martial arts experts in the video.
