Mutation testing (MuT) is a well-known technique for assessing the quality of software test suites. The rationale is the artificial injection of errors into the sources. The result is a collection of variations called mutants. We can use such mutants to improve a given test suite, i.e., those mutants not detected by the test suite reveal missing test cases. However, creating MuT tools from scratch for each domain is costly and error-prone. To fill this gap, we can use Model-driven Engineering (MDE), a Software Engineering (SE) paradigm that bases the software cycle on models and allows the design of domain-agnostic solutions. This video demo introduces the Wodel-Test designer: A model-based framework for the engineering of language-specific mutation testing tools.
