How to Brush a Beard

SHOP the WEBSITE: http://TheBeardBaron.com FACEBOOK:   / thebeardbaron   INSTAGRAM:   / thebeardbaron   TWITTER:   / thebeardbaron1   As your beard grows one of the best ways to train it and organize it is by using a beard brush. The come in many shapes, styles, and with different bristles. I've always been fond of the solid wood handles with firm all natural boar bristles brushes. When selecting a beard brush it's important to know the differences of the bristles. Firm bristles work great for coarser hair which the beard is made up of. Anything less than firm will have a hard time getting through your beard and be of an benefit. For vegans you will have to find a synthetic version. Keep in mind, that brushing your beard is one of the most aggressive activities that you can do to your beard. Hairs will be pulled out. That's why it's very important to limit your beard brushing to only once a day, two times tops. One of the best times to brush your beard is first thing in the morning or before your shower. Larger beards will experience "bedhead" in the morning which brushing will quickly fix. This also helps remove and loosen up dead skin cells, dirt, and grime. A shower after brushing your beard will result in a cleaner beard. Since brushing your beard removes a lot of dead skin cells and dirt it is important to clean your brush. Once a week you should "dry clean your brush by removing the hairs in it. This can be done using a comb or another brush. Massage the bristles to help remove any dirt. Do this over a trash can. Once a month you should give your brush a quick soak in water after you have dry cleaned it. Massage some hand soap into the bristles. Allow to air dry after. This should only be done once a month as water isn't the best thing for a wooden beard brush.
