Six Flags Day Trip! IFR departure, taking all the precautions we could on the ground to make this flight as safe as possible. The ceilings were low but tops were around 5k feet and only for the first 50 miles or so. We were ready with the instrument LANDING from the departure in our standby Navs and the approach was briefed. Also using a backup AHRS incase we have vacuum issues on take off, with ForeFlight synthetic vision again all as backups if we needed them. Was a great trip, and this is what getting instrument rating is all about. It is something to take very seriously but the freedom to fly got us there safe and had a GREAT Day at six flags!
