MRUV 87: Scratchbuilt Road Overpass

First off- please excuse my breathing as the lung condition I have from my deployment with the USAF to Afghanistan has been acting up recently. One last update before I return to the onsite job! I decided to work on the road overpass at the end of the peninsula and got fairly far along. It isn't finished, but I can wrap it up once I get back. I started with a Rix Modern Overpass kit, but that just wasn't what I was looking for. However, the bridge rails were the proper shape. I used those and scratch built the main bridge out of plywood, styrene, and 2mm foam. Some remedial scenery work was needed to incorporate the bridge abutments. These were carved out of pink foam and painted/weathered. Once installed several drain pipes were added. Overall this captures the look I was going for. It may not be an exact match, and some liberties were taken, but it has the right "feel" to it. Now the railfans have another bridge to use for fanning! Thank you for watching.
