Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute held a special exhibition today featuring artistic inventions. One such item was a handheld 3D scanner which allows you to scan everyday objects both big and small. And then there were temporary tattoos which also double as medical products.This colorful picture becomes a temporary tattoo with a little bit of water. Another item that attracted attention was this handheld 3D scanner. It is able to process both large and small items. After a few minutes, a colorful scan emerges. You can manipulate the image on the computer then create a model.Lin Shang-yiProduct EngineerBefore, you could only scan a small figure like a doll, but now you can lift (the scanner) and use your hands to scan a whole person or even an entire house.And then there is this edible malt extract, which makes a floating image. It can be put on a hot cup of coffee to make a logo or image appear. It’s very much like pictures made on the top of lattes.ITRI displayed some 20 different products today that merge both art and technology while making life a little more convenient and efficient.
