Walking Around the Colosseum, Rome, Italy - Walking Tour 4K 🇮🇹

Today, I spent the entire day walking around the Colosseum area. I explored three main areas: Capitol Hill, the Colosseum, and the Roman Forum. The summer weather in Rome is extremely hot, and the temperature on the day I visited reached 38°C. ❖ Capitol Hill Area 0:00 Start at Fountain of Piazza d'Aracoeli 1:10 Capitol Square 6:13 Head to Santa Maria in Aracoeli Basilica 8:38 Santa Maria in Aracoeli Basilica 18:13 Head to Monument to Victor Emmanuel II 20:39 Monument to Victor Emmanuel II 31:05 Terrace of the Quadrigas ❖ Colosseum Area 31:11 Head to the Colosseum 39:22 Colosseum Entrance 43:51 Colosseum First Level 49:00 Colosseum Arena Floor 51:25 Colosseum Museum 54:14 Colosseum Second Level 1:00:20 Colosseum Exit ❖ Roman Forum Area 1:03:06 Head to Palatine Hill 1:04:54 Arch of Titus 1:05:36 Palatine Hill 1:15:06 Roman Forum ❖ Information about the locations in the video Capitol Square (Capitol Hill): Located on Capitoline Hill in Rome, Capitol Square was the administrative center of ancient Rome and remains a hub of historical monuments today, notably the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius. This large bronze sculpture depicts the Roman Emperor on horseback, designed by Michelangelo during the 16th-century redevelopment of the area. The original statue is displayed in the nearby Capitoline Museums, while a replica stands in the square. Santa Maria in Aracoeli Basilica: Situated on Capitoline Hill, this significant church in Rome, Italy, is officially known as Basilica di Santa Maria in Aracoeli. The church is famous for its historical importance and unique architecture, built on the site of an ancient Roman temple. It features a long staircase and houses many important artworks, including the "Santo Bambino," a small statue of the Infant Jesus. The church has hosted numerous historical events in Rome. Monument to Victor Emmanuel II: Also known as the Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland) or Il Vittoriano, this grand monument is located in central Rome. It was built to honor Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of unified Italy. The monument is a significant national symbol and one of Rome's most famous landmarks. Terrace of the Quadrigas: This terrace is located atop the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II (Il Vittoriano). From here, visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Rome, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and even St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. The name "Quadrigas" refers to the four-horse chariot statues (quadriga) placed on top of the monument. Colosseum: Also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, the Colosseum is an ancient architectural marvel in the heart of Rome. It is one of the most famous symbols of the Roman Empire and one of the greatest architectural feats of the ancient world. Built between 70-80 AD under Emperor Vespasian and completed under his son, Emperor Titus, the Colosseum was initially used for gladiatorial contests, wild animal hunts, public executions, and other public spectacles. It could hold between 50,000-80,000 spectators and was designed in an elliptical shape with multiple levels of seating. Despite being damaged by earthquakes and fires over the centuries, much of the structure remains intact, making it one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions. Palatine Hill: One of Rome's seven hills, Palatine Hill is located in the city center and is a significant archaeological site. According to legend, this hill is where Romulus and Remus, the twin brothers who founded Rome, were raised by a she-wolf. The hill later became the site of luxurious palaces and villas for Roman emperors and aristocrats. Today, visitors can explore the ruins of these ancient buildings and enjoy stunning views of Rome, including the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. Roman Forum: Known as "Forum Romanum" in Latin, the Roman Forum is a rectangular area surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings in central Rome. It was the center of public life in ancient Rome, hosting public speeches, criminal trials, gladiatorial matches, and commercial activities. The Forum was the heart of ancient Roman civilization and the central area of the city's development. 🇮🇹 More Videos in Italy: 🚶 Walking Dolomites    • Walking around Seceda, Dolomites, Ita...   🚶 Walking Florence    • Walking Around Florence, Italy - Walk...   🚶 Walking Pisa    • Walking Around Leaning Tower of Pisa,...   🚶 Walking Vatican    • Walking Around Vatican City - Walking...   🚶 Walking Pantheon    • Walking around the Pantheon, Rome, It...   🇻🇳 More Videos in Vietnam: 🚶 Tu Lan Cave    • Hang Tú Làn Quảng Bình (3 ngày 2 đêm)...   🚶 Da Lat: Zipline and hiking Langbiang    • Walking Da Lat, Vietnam: Zipline Adve...   🚶 Cycling around Tri An Lake and Ma Da Forest    • 🚴🚴🚴 Biking around Tri An Lake & Ma Da...   Thanks for watching the video.
