Alton towers was evacuated due to this lightning storm. Welcome to another video on the channel. We head to Alton towers for their annual Oktoberfest event which is one of my favourites every year, however this visit was probably the most eventful one yet. The day started off lovely, beautiful weather, clear skies and quite warm. Half way through the day we were hit with the biggest storm I've ever witnessed. Thunder and lightning struck Alton Towers with torrential rain. Every ride and attraction in Alton towers closed really quickly which left only the entertainment on offer. Unfortunately this was also cancelled due to the severity of the weather. This meant that I couldn't grab any footage of the entertainment for you guys which I can only apologise. During the storm the power in Alton towers was hit which meant everything went down, lights, card machines, shops, everything! We retreated to the gift shop but unfortunately this was closed too due to the storm. Everybody left immediately as the storm was building in severity and for everyone's safety the whole Oktoberfest event was cancelled.
