This is a follow up video to the first video I posted regarding HDR gaming picture settings on the LG CX. I ran out of time in the first video, to go over everything I wanted to demonstrate and discuss. YouTube is limiting my upload time to 15 minutes. In this video, I go over how to properly set up and calibrate the PS4/Pro HDR settings, within the PS4’s system settings. I also go over how to properly calibrate the in game HDR settings within Red Dead Redemption 2. Last, I finish up the video by demonstrating the differences between Dynamic Tone Mapping, HGIG, and DTM off. What I have found is that HGIG is indeed helping the LG CX to tone map correctly for RDR2. With both DTM on and off, the peak brightness slider does not work properly. The only way that it does work correctly, is with HGIG enabled. This results in maintaining more specular highlight detail, and having the game look more in line with how the creators intended. So my hat goes off to LG, and including this feature within the CX, as well as other models, as it is actually needed for this particular game. I want to thank everybody for watching this video! Please leave a comment down below if you have any questions, input, and advice for me. As I always state, I am an absolute amateur at making videos. I also have very limited resources to create these, as I am working solely off a cellphone. This makes it really hard.... Also, let me know what other topics you would like me to go over in future videos. I do plan to continue this LG CX series, and go over movies picture settings, as well as the best settings for streaming content, etc. So until next time, you guys take it easy. Stay safe out there.
