Did I see the OLDEST WAGONS at Carlisle? Old and unexpected wagons & New Measurement Train 13 02 23

Did I see the OLDEST WAGONS at Carlisle? Old and unexpected wagons & New Measurement Train 13 February 2023 I expected this to be a fairly uneventful afternoon at Citadel station with only the New Measurement Train making its monthly visit as anything special. It was nice to see the Pride pendolino heading to and from Edinburgh, that brought some colour. Then two freights caught my attention. The engineers train from Tyne Yard brought four 50T capacity bogie bolster wagons and stopped in the centre roads awaiting a path to Carlisle Yard. I had a look at the builders plates - on at least one, the cast details had literally dropped off over many years, given the colour of the rust. I was able to read one - built in 1955! Can there be many older wagons still running along main lines? Then the working from Carlisle Yard to Hardendale Quarry passed by. This is usually a light engine working, to take containers of Burnt Lime from the lime kilns at Hardendale down to Margam Yard for Port Talbot steelworks. Today it was showing as a class 6 freight - the 66 had a pair of steel coil wagons in tow. Whilst frequently seen along the South Wales main line between Margam and Llanwern, I think this is the first time I've seen them in Carlisle!
