The engine having this honor is none other than reciently-restored steam engine #425, a classy ex-GM&N 4-6-2 Pacific-type locomotive. We'll watch the historic event unfold as the engine storms out of Riverside Park in Tunkhannock, as she heads south towards Pittston Yard. Once clear of Pittston, the engine will begin to tackle the west side of the hill going towards Penobscot; the highest point on the RBMN Lehigh Line. Once past the hill, the train will cruise on down through the famous Lehigh Gorge, and arriving in Jim Thorpe. After a 3+ hour layover in the 'Switzerland of America', the train heads back through the gorge, this time tackling the east side (and steeper side) of the grade going towards Pittston. We'll see the train at famous locations such as Tannery, Soloman's Gap, Laurel Run, and even in the Lehigh Gorge! So sit back, and witness this historic event as steam once again, traverses the Lehigh Line.
