The original 1996 video for The Spice Girl's debut single Wannabe, played next to the 2021 lyric video. Both shot at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel - named the Midland Grand Hotel at the time of the 1996 shoot. The hotel has quite evidently had a major revamp since 1996, as at the time of the original shoot it had been closed for some time and left in a rather neglected state (which played a part in the decision to shoot in relatively low light at night, covering up the imperfections with drapes and fabrics.
