During East Ventures Summit 2024, we presented panel discussion with the theme "Healthcare reforms since the COVID-19 pandemic and innovations in chronic disease management" where we bring together Prof. dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono Sp.PD-KEMD., Ph.D, Vice Minister of Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Andrew Wu, PhD, Co-Founder and CEO Mesh Bio, Andrian Ang, Co-Founder and CEO Aevice, Levana Sani, Co-Founder and CEO Nalagenetics and moderated by Ari Jahja, Head of Indonesia Equity Research Macquarie Group. This panel discussed investment opportunities in Indonesia’s healthcare sector with a focus on the sector’s growth, recent reforms, and the rising burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Topics covered included adapting business models to local markets, reducing healthcare costs, and the importance of public-private collaboration. Some innovations that showcased during the discussion including genetic testing for chronic diseases by Nalagenetics, digital twin technology for early kidney disease detection from Mesh Bio, and a wearable stethoscope for respiratory monitoring by Aevice. Professor Dante highlighted the Ministry of Health’s strategic pillars to improve healthcare infrastructure and tackle NCDs.
