रूस और यूक्रेन पर मोदी की डायलॉग और डिप्लोमेसी का असर प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने 21 से 23 अगस्त,2024 तक पोलैंड एवं यूक्रेन के निमंत्रण पर दोनों देशों की सरकारी यात्रा की थी। जहां 21से 22 अगस्त की उनकी पोलैंड की दो दिवसीय यात्रा दोनों देशों के बीच 2024 में राजनयिक संबंधों की स्थापना की 70वीं वर्षगांठ के अवसर पर की गयी,वहीं वह पिछले 45 वर्षों में पोलैंड जाने वाले पहले भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री थे। उल्लेखनीय है कि पोलैंड यूरोपीय संघ का सदस्य और भारत का मध्य और पूर्वी यूरोप में एक प्रमुख आर्थिक भागीदार है और दोनों देशों के बीच द्विपक्षीय व्यापार लगभग 6 अरब डालर है। पोलैंड में भारत का निवेश लगभग तीन अरब डॉलर और भारत में पोलिश निवेश लगभग एक अरब डॉलर का है। पोलैंड में कई भारतीय कंपनियां कार्यरत है, वहीं पोलैंड की लगभग 30 कंपनियां भारत में विभिन्‍न व्‍यवसायिक क्षेत्रों में काम कर रही हैं। मोदी ने अपनी यात्रा दौरान पोलैंड के साथ अपने संबंधों को सामरिक भागीदारी में परिवर्तित करने का निर्णय लिया। इसके बाद दूसरे चरण में मोदी ने 24 अगस्त,2024 को यूक्रेन की यात्रा की और राजधानी कीव में 7 घंटे के आसपास ही रुके। मोदी की यह यात्रा किसी भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री की दोनों देशों के बीच 1992 में स्थापित राजनयिक सम्बन्ध स्थापित होने के बाद पहली यात्रा थी । इस यात्रा से भारत की मुख्य वैश्विक शक्तियों और क्षेत्रीय संघर्षों के बीच सन्तुलन साधना तो था ही, साथ ही वैश्विक मामलों में भारत की आवाज को मजबूती प्रदान करना और चीन के बढ़ते प्रभाव को काउंटर करना भी था। मोदी ने यूक्रेन के राष्ट्रपति वोलोदिमीर जेलेंस्की से कहा कि वर्तमान संघर्ष को समाप्त करने के लिए यूक्रेन और रूस को तुरंत वार्ता करनी चाहिए और इस क्षेत्र में शांति बहाली में किसी भी भूमिका के लिए वे स्वयं मध्यस्थता के लिए इस शर्त पर तैयार हैं जब रूस और यूक्रेन इसके लिए राजी हों। मोदी का जेलेंस्की से यह कहना महत्वपूर्ण था कि भारत ने इस मुद्दे पर कभी तटस्थता की नीति का अनुसरण नहीं किया। बल्कि शुरू से ही युद्ध की निंदा करते हुए दोनों पक्षों से संयुक्त राष्ट्र चार्टर के सिद्धांतों और क्षेत्रीय अखंडता का आदर करने और कूटनीति एवं डायलॉग के द्वारा समाधान खोजने का आग्रह किया है। अब शांति वार्ता की जमीन तैयार करने के लिए राष्ट्रपति पुतिन ने ब्रिक्स के तीन सदस्य देशों भारत‚ चीन और ब्राजील को शामिल किया है। मोदी की यात्रा के दौरान यूक्रेन के साथ चार समझौते भी किए गए । Modi's Dialogue & Diplomacy on Ukraine and Russia Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook an official visit to Poland and Ukraine from August 21 to 24, 2024, at the invitation of both countries. He offered India’s role as a mediator, should both sides agree. He reiterated India’s consistent position of condemning the war, urging both parties to respect the principles of the United Nations Charter and territorial integrity and seek a resolution through diplomacy and dialogue. In a significant move to lay the groundwork for peace talks, Russian President Vladimir Putin has involved three BRICS nations—India, China, and Brazil—in efforts to end the conflict.
