A multi-faceted creator, the American Laura Cortese enchants everyone wherever she goes. This violinist, singer, songwriter, composer, maestro performs with several musical ensembles, and has founded her own string quartet, « Laura Cortese & the Dance Cards ». For the Fiddlers on the Move Festival, Cortese invited two musicians she has known for years. Begoña Riobó is one of the most renowned violinists of Galician music. Among others, she has played with Carlos Núñez and Susana Seivan. She made two albums with her own group, « Riobó ». Scotch musician Hannah Read is well known on both sides of the Atlantic. Besides her numerous collaborations (with, among others, Eliza Carthy and Karine Polwart, in « Songs of Separation »), she forges a singular repertoire rooted in the DNA of Scotch and American folk traditions.
