Natural Tunnel Duffield, Virginia

Natural tunnel located in Duffield, Virginia came into existence after thousands of years of water eroding limestone until its current state of approximately 850 feet long and 100 feet high inside. The tunnel is 10 stories deep from the ridge top. The tracks were laid in 1893 by South Atlantic and Ohio railroad. There are trails for a hike down to the tunnel on both sides. The park entrance side has a chair lift down to the tunnel and a trail to hike the ridge top over to Loves Leap overlook. Tunnel walks are provided by park rangers.
