in this video it is explain what is the limitation to file 498A IPC case. and myth about 7 years limitation to file 498a case. there is no limitation to file complaint under section 498A to any police station. if any wife file complaint against her husband after the 7 years of marriage then police has to file the complaint and registered FIR as per provision of Section 154 crpc and also investigate the matter and thereafter police has to file charge sheet before the court. here court has limitation to take cognizance in any case as per section 468 of CRPC and this section is taking about the limitation of taking cognizance in any case as per punishments' of the offence and in section 498a ipc there is 3 years punishments' and court has to see weather allegation by the wife is not more then 3 years old and in case wife alleged 3 years old allegation then court can reject the charge sheet and not inclined to take cognizance in the case. but court has some special power under section 473 of crpc where in certain cases court can extend the three years time of limitation to take cognizance in the offence.
