Official music video for Collide - Mr. OK Whoa. What doozey this was to make. From the song, to the recording, to producing this music video. Im proud of the end product and that felt like the best kind of project to really sink my teeth into. Hope you enjoy. Collide has been with me forever what seems like many lifetimes. I initially wrote the first guitar hook for this sitting in an airport in rural Chile in 2015. When I got home, I started to put it out on a looping pedal and play it in my house as I had coffee and started the day. Once it hit, the lyrics and parts literally poured out of me like water with the first version of the song finished in a sitting sometime that spring. While this song was initially about love, love lost, and reconnection. Over the years it has morphed and twisted in my mind to be a reflection on past lives, current situations, and my relationship with art over the years. To paraphrase a quote one of my good friend's poems which had inspired me around the time when I was writing - collide is a feeling of "the thin slivers of hope that shimmer and gleam when the dreams seem real and the real seems like a dream" @larsjolsen This video, is an honor to that feeling - the collisions we all face between the place we love and the places we need to be, the memories we've lived and the present we're building, the dream that seems too real and the real that seems like a dream. Because just maybe, some times, we were the hope that was shimmering off in the distance after all.
