He has also either defeated or befriended seven of the eleven known past or present Warlords prior to the organization's dissolution. After learning of this and his exploits against the Big Mom Pirates, the press labeled him the "Fifth Emperor of the Sea," though many prominent figures initially considered this to be exaggerated. However, after defeating Kaidou during the Raid on Onigashima, Luffy was officially declared as one of the Four Emperors by the World Government along with Buggy, replacing Kaidou and Big Mom. He then went on to form his own crew and build it up into a powerful military force determined to challenge the World Government. What’s really bad too is the mismatch in especially the stamina department as Luffy's gear 5 runs out faster than gear 4 does, and he’s fighting against the one character who has the best display of stamina and endurance in the entire series that isn’t maybe Akainu or Kuzan. Not only does the manga show that Kaido might damn near be stronger than gear 5 while under normal conditions? But at worst these two just scrap and Luffy loses gear 5, leading into him dying right then and there. With no island to hold or over 10 individuals jumping him with the best abilities that have durability negation? Kaido under normal circumstances would cook Luffy. And that’s why in my opinion?
