With a little help from my sidekick, Paisley, I got started by removing the old, dingy carpet. I chose Malibu Wide Planks' premium French Oak solid hardwood flooring in the color Ladera to bring a natural, elegant vibe to the room. The 5-inch wide planks come in varying lengths, which meant less cutting and a beautiful, seamless look. The tongue-and-groove design made it easy to install, and I floated the floor, gluing each piece together for a snug fit. Using spacers for expansion, a tapping block, and a rubber mallet, I installed the planks quickly. The flooring came together like a puzzle, making the whole process stress-free. Not only is this hardwood flooring durable and water-resistant, but it's also easy to sand and refinish in the future.
