#05 Gangotri Dham | Harsil Valley | Meri Pahadi Chai | #village #nature बगोरी | गंगोत्री धाम On the third day of our adventure, I rose at 5:30 AM in a cozy homestay nestled in Bagori Village, Harsil Valley. I was eager to wake up early for two reasons: to soak in the beautiful sights and because we had to make our way to Gangotri Dham. Before long, my brother was up as well. We checked out of our homestay, enjoyed breakfast in the main area of Harsil, and then made our way to the road to catch a taxi. Fortunately, a taxi was returning to Harsil, and to our delight, the driver was someone we recognized. He kindly agreed to take us to Gangotri Dham. We jumped in and set off from Harsil Valley. In about 40-45 minutes, we reached Gangotri. We quickly began our search for a hotel room. Taking a side path from the main street, we stumbled upon a bridge that offered a breathtaking view of the river. Continuing our exploration, we found another GMVN (Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam) on the opposite side of the bridge. After freshening up at the hotel, we ventured out to visit the temple. We waited in line for nearly an hour before it was finally our turn. Afterward, we enjoyed lunch and returned to our hotel room for a little rest. After a short nap, I set out to explore the streets of Gangotri Dham. I was fortunate enough to witness the Ganga Arti, a stunning ceremony dedicated to Goddess Ganga. It was a truly remarkable experience, and I felt incredibly thankful. The following day, we woke up at 4:30 AM to catch a bus from Gangotri Dham to Rishikesh, which departed at 7 AM. Upon arriving in Rishikesh, we took an auto rickshaw from the bus depot to Nepali Farms to board a private AC bus. We found one heading to Delhi, so we hopped on and reached Delhi the next day around 1:15 AM, finally arriving home at 2 AM. Thus, we completed a 19-hour road journey from Gangotri to Delhi.
