I bet you did know about this! Gaspe Peninsula. (TL EP 20)

Day 20, Trans Labrador and East Coast Motorcycle Adventure 2022 Today we travel up and down mountains that separate the picture perfect fishing villages on the Gaspe Peninsula. The highlight of the day was dinner at the Capitaine Homard restaurant in Sainte-Flavie, Quebec. We travelled from Forillon National Park to Riviere-du-Loup. We woke to grey and dreary skies and a chilly14° but the rain held off until we had packed up. As we were leaving, we had some light rain but it soon passed. We rode all day on Route 132. The first few hours were repetitively beautiful! We would climb a steep mountain or hill, summit and then descend as rapidly to see a cove with a picture-perfect sea side village. This happened over and over. I thought perhaps I had died, and this was heaven. This was the case all the way to Matane where the scenery was still nice but paled in comparison to most of the Gaspé Peninsula. Yesterday, the rock cuts were the gateway to beauty. Today, the Tim Horton's was the gateway to normality. We stopped and had a tea at the first Timmy's for several days and we had a long chat with a couple riding two-up on their GS1200. We were impressed by their tales of travelling to the Dempster Hwy and they were impressed by our tales from the Trans Labrador Highway. We continued east on 132 to St Flavie where we stopped for dinner at Capitaine Homard (Captain Lobster) and it looked like it was right out of the set of Sponge Bob Square Pants. Fabulous place and terrific food. I had the Poke Homard Bowl (Lobster, edamame, cucumber, rice and some secret sauce topping). TRES YUMMY. Finally, we continued east on Route 132 until we found a great campground on the banks of the St Lawrence in Riviere du Loup. Tomorrow we will hit the highway to Montreal.
