A beautiful, all original, made in Japan by Fujigen Gakki, St George Model DC-2 Electric Guitar with the original Soft Shell Case. These guitars were made from 1963 thru 1967. No serial numbers to date these but the headstock and St George Logo are not the early ones so we are calling this one a 1966. It could be any of those years. My Japanese Guitar Reference book lists this as one of Fujigen Gakki models they produced. My Japanese guitar expert further told me that the pickups themselves were made in the Matsumoku factory and then installed by Fujigen Gakki for import to the USA. Fujigen Gakki made many brands of guitars we all recognize such as Apollo, Avalon, Domino, Electra, Greco, some Kents, Noble, Rodeo, Stradolin and Zim Gar...All quality brands... This particular guitar is very rare in the fact that it's red. We have seen a few of this model but all in Sunburst. I was really excited to see this red one. It has the original mirror'd Pickguar and switch plate, knobs, whammy tailpiece and even the whammy bar thats always missing. The original Matsumoko Pickups, nut, truss rod cover, tuners, Mirror'd Tuner guard, tuner grommets and even the red plush case We had our Tech set this guitar up with a new set of 10 guard Dr Ducks Strings. It plays great now. The truss rod works as it should and the frets are in also great shape. The guitar has a 24 1/2 inch scale neck, a 1 3/4 inch original nut and the guitar weighs 6 lbs 14 ozs. Not too heavy. Looking for a garage band sound with an authentic Garage Band Guitar? You found it. The bridge pickup is nice and bright... with the neck it sounds really cool... These pickups sound wonderful.. As cool as the guitar is...check out that case. All the latches, hinges and original handle are still with it. The red Plush interior is just beautiful with this guitar and even the accessory box is still with it. There was some Tolex missing from the head of the case. We added some self adhesive tolex to properly cover it up. It looks very nice. See pic 15. Its beautiful but vintage and used so its sold as-is no returns.. thanks for respecting that.
