Cellucomp - Microfibrillated Cellulose from side-streams of root vegetables

What potential applications exist for food industry side-streams such as by-products generated from sugar production? In this episode, we interviewed Christian Kempf-Griffin, CEO of Cellucomp. CelluComp is a Scottish-based company that develops and commercialize Curran, a polymer derived from the extraction of nanocellulose fibres of root vegetables, primarily from sugar beet pulp. Microfibrillated Cellulose (MC) is incredibly versatile and can substitute carbon-fiber polymers in many applications including paints, coatings, inks, personal care, home care, paper, food, concrete, drilling fluids and composites.
