Simple ingredients and a treat especially for all our island families. Enjoy! 💯🏡🌺 RECIPE FOR FAAPAPA - SAMOAN COCONUT BREAD Ingredients Margerine 7-8 cups plain flour 3 cups raw sugar 2 cups shredded coconut 1.25L coconut cream (3 cans) 1) Sift the flour into a bowl. Mix with the sugar and shredded coconut 2) Create a well in the dry ingredients and pour the coconut cream 3) Use wooden spoon and mix ingredients together 4) With your hands, knead the dough through, adding the rest of the coconut cream. The dough should be very sticky in texture 5) Next measure out sheets of aluminium foil around 30cm in length. 6) Coat each of these sheets with margarine and scoop a handful of dough, forming rectangular loaves in the centre. 7) Fold over the sheet and turn the faapapa over onto a baking tray 8) Bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 1hr 30mins or until golden brown 9) Bring out onto cooling rack and set for 20mins. 10) Remove aluminium foil and serve with koko samoa or as a snack. Enjoy!
