An academic exercise today - flying the C208 Black Square Analogue Grand Caravan in extreme weather in Microsoft Flight Simulator, and demonstrating an extreme ILS approach. We develop a scan of the indicated airspeed, altitude, attitude indicator, course deviation indicator, and vertical speed as we descend into the murky sky ahead. This would rarely if ever be performed in real life, but it's a good exercise to work through from time to time to develop trust in your own thought processes, in the instruments, and to keep your skills up.
