So there are five school signs that you need to know for the purposes of passing your road test. And unfortunately if you've speed in a school zone, those designated as 30 kilometres an hour, or 20 miles an hour, unfortunately that's an automatic fail on your road test. School signs are pentagons in shape, 4 of the 5 are pentagons in shape, which means they look like a house, there are two people on the sign and the way I remember that is from that little mnemonic when you were learning English in grade school, "when two vowels go walking, one does the talking". So that's how I remember the school signs, is that there's two people on them. The first school sign gives you advanced notice that there is a school in the area, and if there are children present on the roadway you're gonna slow down and reduce your speed. The second one indicates a speed limit of 30 kilometres an hour, between eight and five, during the day, during school days, so if there's a professional development day you don't have to do the posted speed limit. The next one is the time and the speed. And then finally if there are children present on the roadway then you have to reduce speed. And finally the last one is a regulatory sign, it's white background with black symbols on it, and it designates a crosswalk. So those are the five school signs that you need to know for being successful on your road test. Five School Signs 1) School in the area sign; 2) School Speed Zone 3) School Speed Zone on School Days between 8am & 5pm 4) 30kph when children present on roadway 5) School Crosswalk Sign 00:00 - School Signs and Zones :: Read and Interpret to Pass Your Driver’s Test 01:05 - 5 School Signs You Need to Know to Pass Your Driver’s Test 02:28 - School in Area Sign 03:26 - Unfortunately, School Signs are NOT Consistent 04:08 - School Speed Zones & Their Signs 04:49 - The Time That School Speed Zones Are in Effect 05:45 - School Speed Zone Ends - Look for the BACK of the School Sign 06:17 - School Speed Zones When Children Are Present on Highway 07:45 - Cautionary School Zone Signs 08:40 - School Crosswalk Signs - Regulatory Signs 09:33 - How Close to Be to Pedestrians When Driving 10:12 - Smart Points to Remember About School Signs 12:24 - Road Markings Will Accompany the School Crosswalk Sign 12:53 - Question - Is there a school in the area where you’re taking you driver’s test? 13:57 - Smart Bloopers ****************** www.smartdrivetest.com www.facebook.com/smartdrivetest www.twitter.com/smartdrivetest www.instagram.com/smartdrivetest/ **************** MONETARILY SUPPORTING THE CHANNEL: If you wish to support the channel monetarily, you can donate via PayPal here: https://www.paypal.me/smartdrivetest This is appreciated and helps the channel, but please don't feel that it is necessary to be part of the smarter driver community. ****************
