Earlier this year (2020), I bought a new Herman Miller Embody chair, thinking it's going to be the best chair I've ever used. The first thing I noticed was that the seat extending mechanism was making a knocking noise when I was bouncing my leg. While I was waiting to get that checked out (the dealer is closed due to COVID-19), the chair developed horrible creaking and squeaking noises worse than any chair I'd ever used to the point that I hate using it now. I found others experiencing similar issues:    • Herman Miller Embody squeaking noise ...      • Herman Miller Embody squeaking noise ...     / creaking_on_embody_chair   etc. These issues are unacceptable from a brand new chair that cost me $1350. The good news is HM offers a 12-year warranty, so I'm hoping they'll take care of the issue through the dealer, but I'll have to wait for them to reopen following the shelter in place. In the meantime, I ordered a silicone lubricant spray to see if I can get the creaking to go away myself. We'll see... Update: Herman Miller decided to take back my chair and replace it with a new one. I am currently trying to sell it for what I paid for it because I am disappointed with the amount of noise and play in the extender, as well as lack of proper lumbar support.
