Monster Hunter Frontier Z: Harudomerugu - Switch Axe F (Solo)

Battle begins at 31:30 ....I don't even know where to begin with this guy Though I suppose considering the sheer amount of untold patience and negative emotions writhing with the conclusion of being one of the most downright infuriating monster experiences I've ever had to eventually acquire a slay with one, can simply be put to good note to everyone that HARUDOMERUGU IS A FUCKING NIGHTMARE I genuinely detest how insane this fight can manage to be just for the very reason behind the idea of certain attacks doubling down to requiring brutally specific tells of avoiding them completely unscathed. Because more often than anything else when I dodge through a powerful physical attack like those dreaded spinning maneuvers that kept killing me more times than I can possibly count, I get damaged by an incoming projectile or knocked over from a different part of his body. Those projectiles by the way also require stupidly specific tells to dodge. Harudomerugu is one of the hardest fights in the game simply because of how insidiously dangerous he is in combat. Even in high rank for all that matter. Which says a lot So with all of the pointless rambling plastered above to justify how incredibly difficult it was for me to slay him, what other reasons could I possibly have to express the opposite on why I still consider him as an overall favorite Frontier elder dragon? Easy answer The incredulous concept of CONTROLLING. LIQUID. METAL. That concept ALONE deserves all of the highest honors it can get from people who've witnessed the unassailable opposition wrought by this maleficent beast glazed in fantasy. Based on how he looks and behaves while utilizing parts of his body with the liquid metal by forging weapons, (Especially the stabbing move) summoning rain, and surrounding the floor with trails of moving spikes is achieved spectacularly to further demonstrate how deadly and, more importantly, INTELLIGENT he really is as an elder dragon. Particularly, Harudomerugu's psychopathic behavior is another well made characteristic that I admire tremendously because of how clear it's all brought out to indicate that he's sent to straight up mercilessly slaughter you to lifeless oblivion. Always prepared to unleash his power to the highest possible degree and beckons for combat up close at all times. Proceeding to gradually dissolve your health in an attempt to effortlessly finish you off on the spot with nothing to save you from the clutches of despair sinking deep within your confidence slowly being eaten; only remaining with a fearless heart that's needed to vanquish the evil cast before you. That is how the experience with Harudomerugu always felt to me whenever he turns enraged. A do or die situation leaking with incredible risk at the same time. There's really nothing else quite like it that can wield this amount of quality. Combining that with the idea of this particular specimen invading the Interceptor's Base in a quest with severely limited time, makes me believe that this Harudomerugu might possibly seek revenge on the person that's encountered it. Given it's natural behavior to "track down" it's target, pretty much justifies how urgent this quest really is Although I still really hate dealing with most of the attacks, when put in a visual perspective, the liquid metal creates such an exquisitely beautiful display in every angle that it really gives off such a magnificent scenery to look at. Truly an admiring sight. Also like the cycling "morph ball" attack as well And that marvelous anonymous piano player REALLY does a phenomenal job keeping up with the flow and movement of the battle. This music pretty much goes in tandem with the essence of liquid metal attacks and the aspect of fantasy itself casting a corrosive storm raining down from another world to truly present the very nature of the battle. What a marvelous performance Aside from the sinister hissing noises, menacing look, and gigantic razor blades for wings, It's incredibly interesting to me that each time when Harudomerugu uses a part of it's body by merging liquid metal around it, he always has to regenerate before he can use another attack. It's surprising that owning such a crucial weakness could still render him as challenging despite how much it leaves him vulnerable to a counterattack. Plus the instant stun arm blade attacks, while annoying, are also an interesting part to his hostile design. And his true form as a frail and skinny dragon really goes to show how creative he can be with the liquid metal to fully optimize as a defense mechanism. In terms of intelligence, I'd say personally that Harudomerugu rivals with Atoraru-Ka But for fucks sake there's just so many brilliant details behind Harudomerugu that it's impossible to not like him at all Perhaps when a private server comes out, I'll understand everything better. And NOT use Dark Finale for once! That skill is literal death sentence against a monster like this!
