Jog Falls, is a waterfall on the Sharavati river located in the Western Ghats Siddapur taluk, Uttara Kannada district, and the view point is located in Sagara Taluk of Shimoga district. Bus 🚌 On checking with the KSRTC staff at the Majestic Bus Stand Terminal 2, I was informed that there is a direct bus from Bangalore to Jog Falls that leaves at around 7:30 am from Terminal 2 and reaches by 4:30 pm. However, they were not very sure so best is to go and check directly as it doesn't show online as well. We decided to leave in the night so that we get to see the morning view of the Jog Falls. There are no direct buses to Jog Falls from Bangalore apart from the one mentioned which is also not fixed. Our Route: Bangalore - Sagar (380 kms) and then Sagar - Jog Falls (30 kms) So we caught a 10:47 pm ordinary NWKRTC bus to Sagar which is approx. 380 kms. from Bangalore and the fare was Rs.370. The journey takes 7-8 hours. Our bus was schedules to reach Sagar bus stand at 6:30 and we reached at 6:35. So awesome work by the driver. The bus journey in itself is also very beautiful as it passes through a lot of green pastures. It rained for the entire journey so avoid going by two wheelers during rains. As a bus fan I have shared the bus journey and experience here. I love NWKRTC buses, and we also overtook KSRTC Airavat on way to Sagar. I enjoyed my bus journey on this route. You also get taxis & Autos from Sagar to Jog falls but they may charge you more to what I paid for the Bangalore to Sagar bus trip😅. From Sagar bus stand you get KSRTC buses to Jog Falls but the frequency may not be that good and the stop is a bit ahead of the entrance. Whereas the private buses drop you till the entrance gate and charge Rs.40, so the best and cheap option to reach Jog Falls. 2 Train 🚂 The nearest railway station to Jog Falls is Talguppa station which is around 14 kilometres from the falls. You can catch train from Bangalore to Talguppa and you'll get ricks and taxis that will drop you till jog falls. There are private buses that halt as well which charge only Rs.20 to Jog Falls. So try it. Staying options 🏨: KSTDC (Karnataka State Tourism Development) You can book rooms in Hotel Mayura Gerusoppa Jogfalls which is situated inside the Jog Falls premises itself and offers the best view of the falls and also the most convenient place to stay. You can book rooms online from KSTDC's website i.e. https://www.kstdc.co/ There’s a restaurant, ATM shopping market within the premises as well. Network connectivity will be an issue here. Airtel and Jio worked here for us. However, the network will be weak. You would need to carry cash as UPI may not be possible due to network issues. Apart from KSTDC there are a few options around as well but then you would have to travel a bit.
