How to Ice Fish for Catfish

Angling Uploaded host, Greg Underdahl travels to the famed Horseshoe Chain of Lakes in central Minnesota to tangle with cold water channel catfish. Channel cats are known to bite well in the warmer months, but they can also be caught in winter, too. Equipped with two rods; one rigged with a Johnson Snare Spoon, the other with a Northland Creep Worm, Greg searches out cats living in the basin of the lake. The bait of choice is a delectable minnow head on the Snare Spoon and what's left of the minnow body on the Creep Worm. Catfishing through the ice is a ton of fun; dare we say as much fun as catching popular species like walleye. If you like big, hard fighting fish, ice fishing for catfish is where it's at.
