When you purchase a brushless motor or speed control, you may be surprised to see and learn that they don't all come with connectors. These connectors are in many cases an item that we must solder on to our ESC and motor. Selecting the correct connector for an application is important. If you select a connector to solder on to your ESC or motor and that connector gets hot under load, this is a sign that the connector is not large enough. The connector is not able to handle the amount of power being drawn through it leading to waste heat. With enough waste heat produced by the connector, it can become unsoldered leading to a critical and very serious failure. A bonus tip not mentioned in the video is to also consider the ESC / motor wire gauge. Using a connector that has a wire entry hole smaller than the size of the wire may force you get creative as to how to make it work.
