360° view from Oregon Canyon Mountains

New 360-degree video from a plateau in the Oregon Canyon Mountains, 6,600 feet above expansive southeast Oregon – video: Greg Shine, BLM, Oct. 18, 2017 This view, from within the Twelvemile Creek Wilderness Study Area, is just outside the Dry Creek Bench Area of Critical Environmental Concern. The view to the south includes a dry, unnamed canyon abutting the BLM access road, with Whitehorse Mountain and other peaks in the distance. The down-canyon view to the east expands outside of the WSA and includes Blue Canyon Draw, Oregon Canyon Ranch, and distant hills including Jackson Summit and High Peak. Up-canyon views to the west and north include the sloping saddle area that serves as headwaters to an out-of-view Twelvemile Creek below, and the fenced area of critical environmental concern. The Twelvemile Creek WSA is one of five that make up the Trout Creek Mountains group of WSAs. The others are Willow Creek WSA, Disaster Peak WSA, Fifteenmile Creek WSA and Oregon Canyon WSA.
