Let me share my experience on How I financed myself during my studies in Germany. In Germany, student jobs come in various forms, and it’s important to understand which one is the right fit for you: Mini-jobs: These jobs are part-time and allow you to earn up to 520 EUR a month, tax-free. You can have multiple Minijobs, as long as you don’t exceed this income cap. Werkstudent (Working Student): This is one of the best options if you want to gain work experience related to your field of study. HiWi (Hilfswissenschaftler): Also known as student assistants, these positions are usually at universities or research institutions. Internships: Though not exactly a part-time job, internships are crucial for building experience in your field. Platforms where you can search for student jobs/full time jobs Indeed.de: Widely used, covering all job types, including Werkstudent, part-time, and full time roles. LinkedIn: LinkedIn’s job search tool is effective, especially for working student positions and full time. StepStone: Popular in Germany, and often lists Werkstudent and entry-level roles. Student-Specific Platforms: Stellenwerk.de , Jobmensa.de , Zenjob Company Websites: Many companies post job openings directly on their own websites under a “Careers” or “Jobs” section University Career Centers: Your university’s career services can be a great resource.
