For a change the wind was from the south so I was in with a good chance of being undetected. There was a deer out of sight behind the bracken which remained hidden. I heard a couple of mew calls from the forest and a grumpy stag groan so started calling back to see the reaction. What resulted was a twenty minute conversation with what turned out to be a sika hind who had followed my calls around the boundary and come out of the bracken behind me. Unfortunately it's not so easy to hear her calling back on the video . After she sussed me out, there were two others that had been drawn out into the open, unfortunately both hinds again. No shot today, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
