This is not my first time to visit Long Beach; but it somewhat felt like it was all over again. I was here in 2014, then a year after that. It was almost exactly how I remembered it. Quiet and not too many people for a downtown but I like it that way. People always smiling and welcoming. We were here for our trip to Santa Catalina Islands. This is where we took the boat for Santa Catalina Islands. Anyway, we were in Long Beach for 4 days and 3 nights! We stayed at Long Beach Marriott. It was a comfortable stay despite the searing heat (at least for me, having used to the Bay Area weather). We just found out during check-in that the city was celebrating its Pride Week so that was a bonus. I have a terrible skin condition called sun allergy and it really sucks because as my channel implies- I soooo love walking but my condition limits me to do more walks as I couldn’t walk in the sun from 11 AM to 5:00 PM especially during summer. And Southern California weather is not my friend. It’s extra hot for a Bay Arean visitor. Anyway I tried my best to explore Long Beach before and after that time frame. But I failed to visit some of the must-sees like Queen Mary, Aquarium of the Pacific, etc. The good news is I enjoyed the food and amazing spots like 4th Street, Pike Outlets, Downtown Long Beach Waterfront, Pine Avenue, Rainbow 🌈 Harbor Esplanade, Shoreline Village and of course, we got to watch Long Beach Pride Parade 🏳️‍🌈 2023.
