This video is about Rare and Highly desirable Postage Stamps of Italian Empire. Kingdom of Germany issued its first postage stamps on January 1, 1872. This set of eleven stamps featured the German eagle with a small shield in an embossed center. Before 1872, stamps were issued by individual German states, and Bavaria was the first to issue stamps in 1849. Federal Republic of Germany and West Berlin began issuing their own stamps in 1949. For a brief period, separate stamps were also issued for Saar territory. Since 1990 all stamps issued bear the single country name 'Deutschland'.
