Division of Pharmacy: We Are All Caregivers | Cincinnati Children's

http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/ph... In the Division of Pharmacy at Cincinnati Children’s, we believe that we are all caregivers. Making children well is everyone’s business. For us, that means working together to improve each child’s quality of life. We monitor therapeutic drugs and interventions. We’re consultants who can share our expertise about how the body reacts to drugs. We answer drug information questions and safely deliver medication to patients throughout Cincinnati Children’s. Much of our work happens in the Central Inpatient Pharmacy, where we have three dozen pharmacists and a number of technicians, interns and support staff. On average, we dispense 4,300 doses per day and field more than 600 phone calls per day. We have satellite pharmacies in the Operating Room and the Division of Cancer and Blood Diseases. And we work with Investigational Drug Services and the Clinical Pharmacy staff, as well as pharmacies at our neighborhood locations. Our pharmacy stocks an extensive line of products, including hard-to-find pediatric medications. Many of the oral liquids we use are not commercially available, so we compound the product ourselves and prepare certain products, like capsules, eye drops and nasal sprays. In the Division of Pharmacy, we work behind the scenes to deliver care safely and effectively. We believe our small acts can have a tremendous impact on kids’ lives. Together, we have the power to make a difference. Learn more about the Division of Pharmacy at Cincinnati Children’s by visiting http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/ph...
